UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS

OF DRAWING

Materials Fee: $8.00

Fee Applies to booklet and other supplies

This simple set up of objects presents a number of difficulties and problems that the artist must understand when they set out to make a drawing. This class teaches the student how to figure out proportion and perspective, two of the elements that can be measured for accuracy using simple tools and careful observation. The first class is very important to attend, as these techniques covered fully. For the next 2 classes we will draw! By the end, the student will understand how to spot illusions and false information that our brain gives us. They will be able to understand value and toning, as well as investigate various drawing instruments and papers. This class is based on classical drawing methods, and brief videos by a well-known instructor will be shown to help understand these principles. Each student will receive a booklet describing the method of creating a drawing.
